Richard Kilgore, Senior Technology Consultant

 

Richard Kilgore gets passionate about helping business owners succeed.  He's proven himself time and again by using technology, people and common sense to improve operations, control costs and drive profitability.  Because of his unique background and grasp of technology, Richard's especially adept at explaining technical solutions in a way that makes sense to tech-savvy and non-technical people.

For example, for one client - Richard designed and implemented the technical infrastructure that enabled the company to grow from a two man operation producing $90K/year into a 6.2M/year CRM consultancy employing more than 75 people.  For another, he's worked with them as they've grown their loan servicing portfolio from $300 Million to over $1.7 Billion in such a way that they may scale up or down with no additional capital expense as the economy or their loan portfolio expands or contracts.

Clients often ask Richard to sit in as Chief Information Officer (CIO) for mid-sized businesses who can't afford the $150K - $500K per year required to employ full time skill and talent of his caliber.  He provides C-level leadership, insight, experience, drive and skill for a fraction of the cost of an equally qualified full-time CIO.  Able to work with many different types of clients, Richard sits down with executive teams, talks with them about their goals and vision for the company, develops an understanding about how they want to take advantage of technology to achieve their goals and vision and then guides them through a series of successive "next steps" to accomplish their objectives in a timely, common sense and cost-effective way.  Sometimes he manages the existing staff.  At other times he provides counsel and board level acumen to identify and mentor resident technical leadership.  If necessary he'll ferret out operational bottlenecks and attract, hire and manage a new technical staff to fix them. 

With more than thirty years progressive business technology experience in U.S. and international markets, Richard brings broad and deep skills implementing database, network, emergency preparedness and telecommunications systems that enhance and protect business operations.  He balances technical skills with strengths in management and a jargon free communications style carved from the practical mindset he grew up with in the West Texas Panhandle.  He prides himself on his ability to create effective, common sense solutions in unique environments, especially those found in small to mid-sized businesses.  As an entepreneur himself, Richard understands the value of a dollar and will often recommend a non-technical solution to a business problem, because he knows that more software and hardware often create more problems than they resolve.  Richard values easier, cheaper, faster and more flexible.

Happily married and father of three grown children, Richard graduated from West Texas State University in Canyon, Texas, with a B.B.A. in 1979.  Since then he's worked in the Loan servicing, Oil and Gas, Non-Profit, Cosmetics and Telecommunications Industries and maintains cutting edge skills in Loan Servicing, Customer Relationship Management, Cloud Based Computing, Computer Networking, Disaster Recovery, planning for computer growth, technical staffing, offsite storage, data migration, and network connectivity.
